Right now, Israeli forces are reducing much of Gaza to rubble in their attempt to destroy Hamas, and once again Palestinian civilians are bearing the greatest cost of the conflict. But this is more than just war, as evidenced by the language being used to justify the blockade and killing of non-combatants. As more and more voices call out the injustices occurring (and that have long occurred) against the Palestinian people, RC sits down with Gary Barwin, a Jewish Canadian writer, who named what's happening in Palestine with the most direct language possible. Yes, we should call it genocide, he says, and yes, we can talk about why that is.
Read the Facebook post he wrote in response to the protests and conflict, which was what inspired RC to reach out.
Here's the open letter signed by all those authors.
